Suggested Home Remedies for: Dry, Cracked Heels & Feet

Basic Causes of Dry Cracked Heels & Feet

Basically Cracked Feet and Heels are caused by external factors, with the major cause being your everyday soap that has a high PH of 9-11. Soaps with a High PH remove the acid mantel(the protective covering that the body normally creates & excretes thru the skin). This acid mantel keeps your skin from becoming dry and is very important not only for the health of your feet but for your health in general. Sweat can cause germs and fungus, which in turn can also make your feet dry and cracked unless your body has a sufficient amount of acid mantel to prevent it. Skin, with the proper PH gives a sufficient protective covering that prevents fungus and germs from entering the body and also helps to prevent Dry Cracked Heels and Feet. Fungus and Germs need moist heat to grow and cannot live in an acidic environment.

Ultra Balm’s Suggested Home Remedies

First you’ll need a pumice stone or a pumice sponge. If you don’t have a pumice sponge, you may use a loofah sponge The stone or sponge is to remove the “dead skin cells” that appear as white or gray callous on the heel. In order for Ultra Balm to deeply penetrate and heal, it is necessary to start with the removal of these cells. It is best done when you have just showered or bathed or after you just soaked your feet in warm water for 15 minutes before bedtime. For best results, instead of using ordinary soap( that has a high PH), take 3 tablespoons of whole oats and soak them in warm water in a cheesecloth or gauze-like material. When the skin is warm and open, and the dead cells are moist, the dead cells are easily removed. Gently rub the affected area with the stone, or sponge until you start to see some pink skin. Note: not too deep, as the skin under the dead cells is often very tender or even raw. Now dry and apply Ultra Balm to the affected area, and rub it in as best you can. Upon going to bed put on a thin pair of socks to keep the Balm penetrating throughout the night. Doing this on a daily basis for a week-ten days will remove all the “dead cells”, will heal the dryness, lines and cracks in your feet and they will look and feel great!

Remember, be cautious the first few times. If you pumice too deeply, you may have sore heals for a few days. It is best to take it slowly at first. You have had these heels for quite a while, so heal them correctly, and give yourself time.
